?? The Yankees spent like 1/3 of their non-TV deal revenue on payroll in 2019

Hal has been notorious cheap and refuses to go over the tax line

Assuming the 2021 numbers are similar to the precovid numbers

Yankees are around 683 in revenue
    statista.com/statistics/196673/revenue-of-the-new-york-yankees-since-2006

    Dodgers at 556
    statista.com/statistics/196665/revenue-of-the-los-angeles-dodgers

Yet the Dodgers shelling out 60 mil more in payroll
    spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/2021

This definitely champagne problems but there's no doubt the yankees aren't investing as much in their team - relative to the resources the team brings in - compared to the major teams

Dodgers spending more than normal doesn't mean the Yankees aren't spending enough lol they're still in the top 3 spenders every year, spending 1/3 of your revenue in payroll is more than most teams spend

Not perfect enough. A hard cap like the nba shows which gm’s are good at their job vs just good at spending
