I’m paraphrasing but without DVD sales the studio’s are reticent to find movies
So basically he gave an example of a 25m budget movie.
Then you have 25m for marketing and then 50% split with theatres so basically you need it to gross 100m which makes them really iffy
With DVD sales the studio can have a double peak in profits
The number Sof course are round but that’s the reason we don’t get mid budget movies anymore

It really says a lot about the societal media loop we are stuck in that predominantly portrays young men infatuated by violence that suffer from mental ailment and/or illness. We need to take media back to the glory days; 12 Angry Men for example. Are they angry? Yup. Are they mad? Yup. Are they killing people? No.
