R Dit's still the dominant language for international commerce / diplomacy / ATC etc etc
and the wealthy chinese are probably as fluent in english as they are in mandarin
think just structurally having a tonal language with like a thousand characters is a big barrier to wider adoption too
I think also with every word being it’s own character it puts a ceiling on how well people can learn the language.
What I think is their will be a hodge podge of English and Chinese with English filling the blanks off words that people don’t know.
That what the conversation is still Chinese but greater mutually intelligible
