finland getting involved openly now, uh oh

yeah switzerland broke neutrality to sanction russia, which is absolutely absurd given their history for the past like, 2 centuries. regardless of the outcome this definitely just changed the entire course of history
finland getting involved openly now, uh oh
If we are still alive after all this and no further war breaks out, which is only possible if they agree on peace, i feel like Sweden and Finland will join NATO immediately. It was not for nothing they were at the NATO-meeting
Yeah, but Ukraine doesnt fill the requirements. In some years maybe, if they get through all this

Delusion on all sides
So much misinformation about whats going and the success/failure the Russian troops are having
Russia is NOT even contesting the information war internationally. They aren't releasing anything from their side except for very vague statements that come directly from the MOD
Russian troops do NOT have phones on them. They will not share pictures of dead Ukranians in burned out military vehicles. It's immoral and it's against their interests in the region
There are ZERO conscripts in the Russian army fighting in Ukraine. Every Russian in Ukraine is a professional soldier. Putin is not sending random 19 year olds into theatre. Most of the Russian POW videos are faked or are from deserters who f***ed up and got lost somewhere
Russia has achieved total air superiority. I think of the ten Turkish drone strike videos I have seen posted on reddit and twitter maybe two are real (rest are from armenia/azeri war) and its not even clear if they accomplished anything other then taking out some parked vehicles that were lead astray. The Russians are currently driving a 40 km long bumper to bumper convoy to Kiev completely untouched. If the Ukranians could bomb this they could.
The majority of the Ukranian army is in the far east. So far it looks like the Russian strategy is not capture and dominate every single town but send in fast recce troops clear a supply line and trap the Ukranian army in a pincer movement. They will slowly close in from here probably giving them a narrow corridor of retreat ala Syria and strike them hard with MLRS fires and bombers.
Will this work? Probably. I would predict the Russians achieve all of their strategic objectives east of the Dnieper in 10-14 days. After that I think they will probably like to take Odessa as well because it has a historic high amount of Russian speakers for a Ukranian city. Most of the media is fixated on the action to the north around Kiev but the souther front is far more important to get the Ukranian army in a cauldron and they have been advancing their with insane speed.
Mariupol will probably be very ugly. Azov head quarters and there are lots of rumours that Azov militants will be hiding in civilian occupied areas and are not letting civilians leave. Here we will probably see the Chechens do a lot of fighting as they are well used to and trained for urban combat along with some of he best units spetsnaz units from the GRU.
How far they go after that I have no idea... I imagine they will leave Lvov untouched and try to create a east / west Germany type thing out of Ukraine.
How serious is Dugin actually taken in Russia? I usually hear how westerners overblow his influence
Not taken seriously he is a meme
Also swift thing is stupid and pretty much an irrelevant buzzword lol its a messaging system that was invented before fax machines were. Russians have had sanctions since 2014 and been self sustaining their future is eastwards with China/India/Pakistan and the euros still wont stop buying their oil or grain
Especially these sanctions targeting "PUTINS INNER CIRCLE" its just a headline Biden can give to the media that sounds nice completely irrelevant to anything most of this stuff will affect Russians living abroad the most which is funny because they are already like 90 percent liberalized and dont like Putin anyway

Is the reason why Russia has no interest in combating misinformation is because its pointless? I see misinformation and censorship from the West and think.. a propaganda war on foreign soil is far less important than what's actually happening on the battlefield.

really don’t want to be cynical but wild this is the Atlantic Council journo blowing up online
To what extent do you think the West has gotten high on their own supply of propaganda about Russia violating the "rules based international order" and to what extent is it just a post hoc justification for their actions with regards to Russia and NATO etc? @krishna_bound

I mean you can call it cynical but there really is nothing pretty about an inter-imperialist conflict with a smaller country being used as its battleground. There will be denial and rehabilitation of the most vile reactionaries.
It's hard to accept for a lot of Westerners that sometimes there are no clear good guys and bad guys in a conflict. That's why they always make WW2 references with regards to this because it's the only type of conflict they can comorehend.
Unfortunately as an Ethiopian no good guys has been a reality we've had to face since forever

Where exactly is all this weaponry and military aid going through to get to Ukraine?
Diplomatic cable from US ambassador in Moscow detailing how pushing for Ukrainian NATO membership would lead to the exact situation we're in now:
"Not only does Russia perceive encirclement by NATO, and efforts to undermine Russia's influence in the region, but it also fears unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences which would seriously affect Russian security interests. Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face. ... Dmitri Trenin, Deputy Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, expressed concern that Ukraine was, in the long-term, the most potentially destabilizing factor in U.S.-Russian relations, given the level of emotion and neuralgia triggered by its quest for NATO membership. ... Because membership remained divisive in Ukrainian domestic politics, it created an opening for Russian intervention. Trenin expressed concern that elements within the Russian establishment would be encouraged to meddle, stimulating U.S. overt encouragement of opposing political forces, and leaving the U.S. and Russia in a classic confrontational posture. ... Trenin cautioned strongly against letting an internal Ukrainian fight for power, where MAP was merely a lever in domestic politics, further complicate U.S.-Russian relations now."

Well the Ukrainian govt, which besides regular Ukrainian forces includes Nazi militias, political prisoners who are asked by Zelensky to fight and foreigners who are being recruited by Nazi militias to join the fight

Yeah..but how? Through air? Through Poland? I'd assume Russia has already strategically blocked significant points of entry. Supplying them with aid can't be easy.
