Pinochet prior to taking power by force had a long & successful military career
Milei prior to being democratically elected was a meme
There’s really no comparison beyond being South Americans of some right wing persuasion

So he’s more so just gonna be a establishment guy who says dumb s*** to satisfy his base?
At least we knew that with the Peronist nothing would’ve changed. This gonna be a hit or miss

Well no he’s going to be unpredictable but he’s not going to be a brutal dictator. If he is successful in implementing his agenda there will be massive changes in Argentina

In a good or bad way? Based on your personal opinion

Argentina is in such a bad trajectory it’s kind of difficult to actively make it worse. Most likely scenario is that it becomes bad in a different way, maybe this is an improvement?
I have to admit I like Milei because I like people who are insane characters
what’s the over/under on him just ending up becoming a regular neoliberal type leader

I don’t think very high because being a standard neoliberal would entail significant reforms in Argentina, and if he has the power to implement those reforms he would also have the power to follow Through on his (somewhat insane) election promises, and no reason not to. The bigger “concern” (although I have to say I don’t know much about Argentine politics) is that due to conflicts with the legislature judiciary etc he’ll basically just be a sitting duck and nothing will change
