Broome (our center) is a good stylistic matchup for Clingan (their center), and we have about 2-3 guards/wings that are legit great defenders. We run 10 deep and they got a great bench. It’s not a horrible matchup

Trash guard play, mainly cause Chase Hunter and JG3 are share ball handling responsibility and neither are really suited for that.

PJ Hall gets into foul trouble all the time and is relatively undersized, doesn’t get many rebounds.

Baylor - up by about 8-10 for maybe 50% of the game. Holloway started out blazing and kept chucking. Had no feel for the game. Literal first game of his career. Ball stopped moving in the second half. Couldn’t defend the dribble drive from guards and Jakobe may have had his best game of the year lol

App St - best reg season App St crowd ever, we missed hella open 3s (3-27) and shot 9-19 from FT. Think that was another game where the dribble drive game led to us collapsing on D and giving some wide open 3s

Bama - bad defensive scout/GP. Didn’t extend out on the 3 point line high enough in the first half. Some non-ideal switch defense too

Miss St - they got a stellar D; we were just anemic offensively early. Tic for tac game and they got the last few blows. Iirc they met our PGs at half court pretty routinely and stymied the offense consistently by forcing them to aimlessly dribble for 1/3rd of the shot clock

I could go on, but most of the losses were just 3 pt shooting not traveling well, Jaylin disappearing on offense, and losing the guard battle. Our PGs just don’t consistently play confident, and sometimes they just don’t have a good feel for the pace and feel of the game. We’ve worked around their defensive deficiencies, but Aden has often been a cone on D, and Tre isn’t a great POA defender. If we lose early, it’ll be because some team with stellar big play packs the paint and makes the perimeter guys win the day
