Nobody ever said we think the Grammys is fair and the people who were secluded have every right to voice their frustrations

But in the same breath, it is up to us to continue to come together and support those who were invited who can MAYBE enable a change in the process to make it to where those same people never have to be secluded again. The president of the organization is black now for damn sakes lmfao. They’ve expanded the voting to so many people of color now, where I don’t even think the majority is white anymore

These things take time. And it sucks that Drake and Weeknd were secluded to the point they don’t submit anymore, cause as we see if they did submit (aside from After Hours) they would get nominated and potentially win (even tho Killer Mike swept 21’s year)

It’s alright to not be happy with this, but to then step back and put the entire blame on the rapper from Compton accomplishing his dreams and making the kids who looked up to him appreciative more, especially being up there with childhood best friends celebrating, is just sad man. Just appreciate the moment and know that you are also right in how you feel about artists not being included

That Zionist propaganda s*** is just so dead to me. Niggas aren’t thinking about that s*** man, live your life. Free Palestine

    "change the process"

you niggas are and champion fake revolutionaries that never ever think to completely topple the system, only get approved by it. nothing will ever change, we will never be free of the music industries tight grip on african american art, and niggas will continue to do back flips everytime the camera pans to taylor swift reacting to black music like an upright horse. that entire fixing it for everyone else s*** is null and void, next year we will go back to business as usual and the typical f*** the grammys vibe will return until niggas have had enough again and a year like this will happen.

saying that kendrick lamar, the most critically acclaimed and talented song writer of our time "accomplished his dreams" by earning his 16-21st grammys off a diss towards an artist that relatively anti industry and anti grammys (after admittedly arrogantly calling for the fight, drake is dumb for that) is absolutely laughable. without any of these awards kendrick had been honored multiple times over multiple eras for his accomplishments as an artist and compton legend. the only kids that are gonna be proud are the ones that never seen him win a grammy before

also not believing the majority of grammy voters is white because they said so is hilarious, you niggas are f***ing idiots

i am happy for mustard though that nigga really took the biggest W of all time

am i happy that kendrick got both record and song of the year? ofc, i dreamed for days like this.. just not like this...

i dreamed for beyonce to get AOTY, just not like this...'

watching dr dre celebrate with lucien just dont sit right. but i guess this is "hip hop" this is who "the culture" is feeling

I'm not saying the Grammys are perfect now (hell no) but we're definitely heading in the right direction and things are finally starting to change.

A decade ago Macklemore wouldve taken every hiphop award smh

bro its literally so easy to control niggas

all u gotta do is give killer mike a grammy his fat ass aint deserve and niggas will say the grammys is on track

its like when pitchfork makes the absolute worst top 30 list but include one obscure rapper so everyone is like ok they know ball

Why only see it from that perspective in your first paragraph? Why not see it as we are all humans trying to get this music thing back to what it’s about, the music, messaging and the visual aspects that come from said music.

Doechii got up there and motivated young black women. Kendrick spoke to a reality probably a lot of people from that city know about while speaking on the fires.

Sabrina Carpenter had one of the biggest years, in music, she’s showcased. The best new artists had big years, they are showcased. Kendrick Lamar had a big year, he is showcased. Taylor Swift is one of the biggest stars in music, she is showcased. Drake and Weeknd would be showcased too if they attended, they are of that stature. Billie Eilish and Taylor went 0 - for. Tyla wasn’t even nominated after the biggest year in African music not only for a woman, but an artist in general.

Like I completely understand your frustrations, but these artists are trying their best with the system at play. Just look at the winners of these awards a decade ago versus today and how EXPANDED the categories have gotten to appeal to everyone’s tastes. Yes the usual suspects win, cause the system is still at play but it’s slowly changing when you have UNDENIABLE talent from people like Raye stomping on a whole performance by other artists in 1:00.
We gotta start looking at s*** from a different lens, that’s my whole things. Music can be used as a conduit to push change, but first we gotta change the biggest event in music and it’s getting there. Bruh there’s like 50+ awards given in the pre-show with speeches and performances. They’ve invented so many categories in a short time span also for the pre-show i watched it and it’s not bad and still “Grammy moment”

You got every right to feel how you feel. I’m just gonna appreciate it for what it is and continue to hope for change that takes time, and also feel bad for the who can’t seem to get recognition. Both are possible

I totally get all of this brother, i just simply dont care about this slow and subtle change. and when it happens its always gonna be weird like this i really just think we shouldnt be at ANY award show where rap is treated like a step child with all the awards given at the beginning. all this s*** is cute bro but im a drake stan that remembers. i also didnt see my artist start getting paraded with awards so i never kinda warmed up to the idea of the award show. in fact we need to bring back the hood grammys!! billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/drake-presents-his-hood-grammys-on-instagram-6274092 (right message wrong messenger)

the problem is that the real leaders in the community are slaves to the system. when kanye was trying to push the charge niggas like jay and dot was still at the grammys sitting there letting them give cracker taylor swift AOTY over literal masterpieces like damn. this s*** coulda been all over but niggas like hov and dr dre are fake revolutionaries, simply niggas hired by the system to guide the sheep. i think the idea of the grammys as a whole just turns all these artist into shills and real musical integrity is not held. lets be real bro even going back to esperalda... why the f*** does the grammys have someone like her in the same category as someone like justin bieber, the fact that the grammys mushes everything together for one "fair" night is just f***ing weird. its not fair to anyone

look im obviously sick but go through my post history, ive always hated the grammys and always judged kendrick for supporting them all these years, im just dissapointed nothig is actually gonna change. and if it does for the better, we will just be more comfortable in the grip of the system.
