but
that doesn't mean any recent rap album is AOTY level. A clipse AOTY grammy is not even gonna have the same impact or make up for all those classics that got snubbed

Hip Hop had its biggest most influential, commercial,acclaimed era without ever getting an AOTY and likely never will because frankly Hip Hop as a genre is on a decline in all those regards.
Hip Hop essentially hit one of the biggest peaks any genre has had since R&B in the early 1900s and and hit its decline with no AOTY wins.

I don't know how the academy works tbh but there's so much great music that gets left out. Dev Hynes should have a couple Grammys by now and that's just one person off the top of my head
