Did those artists play 77 live shows after dropping their albums?
Who cares, they still dropped music
Lendrick dropped a mid album after 5 years
Context matters a lot
295k in a vacuum is great numbers, they're okay numbers for the most highly anticipated rap album in years after a 5 year hiatus
"Context matters a lot"
I agree. And an album where there is heavy lyrical content about black trauma and sexual abuse making people cry isn't going to pull as many numbers as an album filled with bangers
728k total and 14,263 weekly
Are you really gonna try to make comparisons to a dance album 🌚
I mean y’all be comparing someone making an album touching deep topics with minimal features to someone making an album about hoes, flexing and beefing with niggas with 15+ popular mainstream artists throughout it.

Mr. Morale has more features than HNVM and Her Loss combined

All first week sales have been down this year unless you Taylor “30 different versions of the same album” Swift, Harry Styles and Drake/21.
Even Beyoncé, being one of the biggest artists of all time only sold 332K on her new album. That’s definitely a flop for her standards if we calling Kendrick a flop too.

Seemed to me there were plenty of attempts at bangers/radio songs on the album
kendrick really be on y’all niggas mind 24/7
so are we just supposed to ignore the obvious answer??

Okay so u just completely dismissed the point about the tour, proving u care more about pushing stan wars than logic

21 was probably not directly speaking on Kendrick cmon now.

Yup and that's why it's platinum and has the second highest selling fw sales this year

Ah yes, just say Kendrick wants only to tour to make money
Good excuses
You can drop a project and go to tour later but ok I know some of y'all are too dumb to get that

Capitalizing on hype is a thing. That's how u play 4 back to back sold out shows in LA
so are we just supposed to ignore the obvious answer??
the obvious answer is kodak nigga
pay attention
this is for kodak. he just sold 30k or so
Why 21 getting spicy when Kodak would spin his top in a Verzuz? Like…. Badly

The arena he was at in LA isn't even that big, he would've sold that out without even dropping Mid Morale lmao

Those artists underperformed, including Beyonce. Future had his highest first week sales ever this year being 10+ years in the game, and Lil Baby outperformed My Turn which was a mega hit in 2020. Gunna did great too
If Travis dropped this year he'd do similar numbers or just below to Her Loss
People labelled this year as a down year for everyone when it's just not the case
