Like why doesn’t Jay at least tell people to get in a S&P index fund or some s*** thats like 101 and proven to be a much safer and reliable investment than f***ing art
It depends on who hes talking to
Someone like 21 Savage would get a better ROI in a short amount of time from investing in art than investing in an S&P Index fund.
You have to understand that not everyone wants a safe investment. It's good to take risk especially when your young and have bread like that.
"I bought some artwork for one million
Two years later, that s*** worth two million
Few years later, that s*** worth eight million"
I can't wait to give this s*** to my children
Y'all think it's bougie, I'm like, it's fine
But I'm tryin' to give you a million dollars worth of game for $9.99
I turned that 2 to a 4, 4 to an 8"
Some of yall realize that you don't need to be a multi millionaire to invest in art right?
You can also apply this to other things that have value. Then you flip it for profit.

u actually do have to be quite wealthy to invest in the art market lmao
u actually do have to be quite wealthy to invest in the art market lmao
It's relative bro
If you are a millionaire or close to it, you can invest in art.
There's are alot of black people in our community who have reached that level who don't do that, mainly because they aren't aware.
That's why it's important for someone like Jay-z to actually speak about the ways hes making money and pass the knowledge on.
The main point is to find something of value and let it grow.
It sounds like basic advice but theres bunch of regular people have cash sitting around who dont do this. It doesnt even need to be art.

Wow buying something and then selling it for more money never thought of that, Jay is a genius!

Its funny you put 3 fake deep advice in the OP yet 21 Savage himself said he went in did those things lol
Theres no real point in talking to you when you have this obvious agenda.
MyBallsAndMyWord is here to save everyone from Jay-z's horrible advice
what a hero

no not everyone with money can invest in art because the art market is very exclusive and elitist
example: daniel radcliff (yes the actor from harry potter) got rejected to buy a painting from a gallery because the art dealer wanted to sell to a more prestigious buyer
so u can be a whole iconic famous white actor with the money in hand and they can reject u if u don't fit their agenda
the art market is just rich people laundering money, doing fake appraisals for tax cuts or to inflate the value of their own collections and a bunch of other shady s*** just to remain rich
that's all there is to it (let's not get into how it kills the artform because only a select few get "chosen" by the collectors to succeed)

how about u apply jay z's advice and let us know how that worked out for you
u have till the end of this year to show us u had a fruitful return since all it takes is some money to flip whatever for profit
His advice would definitely have value even if your not in music.
Alot of his wealth comes from different things outside of music (real estate, alcohol, art, etc.).
If you are an entrepreneur, you could definitely benefit from his advice depending on your situation.
At the end of the day, hes a successful businessman who has learned different things from other successful businessmen.
When a black man reaches this level of success, the best thing he can do is pass knowledge. It's then up to the person that receives it to take action.
Idk I think a convo with his agent or manager would be more valuable

bro im already doing this lol
im literally flipping stocks and putting my money in other s*** and already seeing returns.
why you think im in here dispelling some of these myths.
It's not easy but people really think this s*** is impossible or exclusive to rich ppl
it just takes time, consistency, and learning about an industry.

and you dont think hes not already doing that lol
why can't he talk to both?

u literally think telling people to invest time and money into being a fancy gambler is good advice

That sounds about right. Certain paintings have a certain prestige and you can't just give it away to anybody.
As a art dealer, thats also within his right.
I don't know much about the specifics of the art market so im not gonna comment any further but my main point still stands.
u literally think telling people to invest time and money into being a fancy gambler is good advice
calling that being a fancy gambler is an insult to me and many others that put the work in to learning this s***.
Gamblers are not consistent and aren't profitable smh
but this kind of thinking is why alot of ppl are not successful into anything they do and why usually the 1% are successful.

" John Steinbeck once said that socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires ."
