21 was the global mega smash album. Organic stability on the charts and several monster hits that people just LOVED and still do.

25 was her Bad. A big success, but not because the songs were great but because the HYPE was unreal thanks to the previous album. Quality was not quite on par with 21.

30 is her Dangerous. Only one smash single, the lead. Everything else can't quite touch 25's success. But the quality is better than 25. Sells well only because her name is in everyone's mouth.

umm yes. Bad is an immaculate album from today's viewpoint, but coming after Thriller it sounded kinda gimmicky and relied on MJ's status and clichees more than creating a new exciting sound.
