On August 25, 2001, the world lost one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Her sheer influence, impact in the arts, fashion, aesthetics, music has never not been felt, and every day her reach just seems to grow. It breaks my heart to think about. She was so young, so full of life, such a trailblazer, it's such a tragedy. Her legend however, has never, and will never, go away. Everyday her music is played and people think about her, and the memories they had and will continue to have with her work.

May her and the 8 other people on that plane rest in peace.
