Not really a fan of the production on this but the rhymes are next level. The beats sounded dated from day 1
Thats part of the appeal to me now, its almost like going back into a timecapsule and helps paint the picture of Harlem that L depicts

Meh, the thing is it never actually sounded fresh, it’s like when C5 dropped it sounded like it was 6 years old. I’m not calling it bad, it’s a great album but I remember thinking back in the 90’s how old it sounded. Wish he’d worked more with primo, his primo s*** was so f***ing good!

Oh s*** you that old you remember when it dropped? i think my viewpoint would be different if I was around when it dropped because I get your point about C5 I felt the exact way
Harlem street politics took a real one away from us my g.
it's scary how his killer is on the cover yo
Holy F*** i didn't know that

I started listing to rap just before pac died i didn’t catch big L’s album until the late 90’s though tbh, it wasn’t like now back then, you had to get the physicals, an album meant more, you’d actually look forward to going to the record store on the drop date, now it’s download and then trash bin 90% of the time
The song that really got me into rap was gangsters paradise 😂

You an oldie, but damn you can say that again I'm a 95 baby so I remember going thorough all my bros cassettes and the tape getting stuck It actually felt like more effort was put into records and delivering a product you actually wanted to keep

Exactly, I feel like there aren’t many artists that do that anymore. There are some though, and I like a lot of new artists but I really don’t have much time for the ones that don’t craft actual albums and only care about the single, streams, memes and autotune.
Holy F*** i didn't know that
yep.
139th st.
they whole crew came up together and ended up killing each other my g.
What's painful is Big L's brother got out of jail and got murdered looking for who killed his little bro.
What's even more painful was earlier that SAME month he got shot, the plans had started for him, McGruff, C-Town, and HOV to get signed to the Roc as a group called the Wolfpack.
We lost the chance to hear a group with prime Hov and Big L because of some bullshit family street s***.
and even after Woodley got murdered a few years ago, the cycle never stops. Last year Big L's nephew (the son of his older bro) was murdered just a few blocks away. nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/ny-harlem-deli-shooting-20190625-wwoucooqrfdnjf4guq6f7ewnku-story.html I'm sure it's retaliation for Woodley.
It's s*** like this that makes me sad we (new york) lost Pop Smoke.

yo this post came to the front of my mind randomly knowing I didn't fully peep it.. You real for this info
This s*** is so sad man. I've been bumping Big L everyday almost for the past month. Nobody could possibly f*** with the guy . Absolutely embarrassed Jay Z in the 95 freestyle too What L's life could have been.. Them bars on newer production would of been insane
