just re-ran the first one, so good but GOD DAMN the girl who plays Hannah is terrible
unironically only time she’s convincing is when she’s on Valium
Same, rewatched the other day for the first time in years and didn’t recall that
Awesome movie but honestly one of the worst acting jobs I’ve ever seen in a major film
Theme song gotta be one of the hardest in film imo
Reviews tomorrow.
I don’t know, I have this lingering feeling that the movie is gonna be more polarizing than anything.
I foresee them making some really big swings with it that aren’t going to connect with everybody.
Ain’t no way this ends up being a fairly staight forward, zombie/post apocalyptic adventure movie.
Just read a review for the film and holy s***, apparently this movie is just full blown Danny Boyle and Garland, and their respective styles, taken to 11.
Movie is apparently shockingly experimental both visually and narratively to the point of almost feeling like an anti-blockbuster.
Direct quote (translated):
“Some will see it as a magnificent trash film, others as a kamikaze blockbuster.”
This movie is 100% gonna be a love it or hate it experience. Rest of the review makes it sound absolutely UNHINGED.
That boots boots Kipling poem edited with the trailer really makes the case for how amazing trailers can be as part of the artform. They really can offer things that movies can’t.
Similarly to how the amazing Killers of the Flower Moon trailers had specific lines edited over scenes that happen in much later in the film. The ‘can you find the wolves in this picture’ line placed over a shot that had nothing to do with the scene that line actually came from. The line obviously has the subtext in it without the edit, but the trailer version let them really do a new thing that movie couldn’t.
And same with this amazing boots poem! Idk if anything in the film can hit the amazing rush of how the shots of all over the film feel with that poem playing in the back. I do hope the poem happens in the movie in some capacity tho
Do I need to watch 28 weeks later
on the real though I rewatched it the other day & it kinda sucks
