I get this genuinely but at the end of the day the P4K grades are still talking about music and no extra s*** that none us should care about when we're listening. So yeah they still comparing numbers but these numbers don't hold the same meaning
critic scores (especially p4k) are intentionally written to bring the most attention to their publication. The sensationalized opinion of one random person isn't any better than actual charts
Exactly my point. If others like it and it's charting then it's good if not then it's bad
i get being happy for an artist when they sell well but this kinda s*** just comes off so insecure to me. obsessing over what others think like it makes anyone wrong or right if they agree or disagree. go listen to kid laroi then lol
3 years on... and I'm still listening to astroworld
Facts
Such a good album
it's been about 2 days since his video was first posted and his sub count only went up by 21. I expected more from ktt

We're way past being happy for most of them. He/she broke Tyler's numbers like a MLB head coach using a***ytics to decide who's getting benched
does it give you validation that other people think it’s good or are you just happy to see them winning
The latter.
ACTUAL engagement from people shouldn't mean anything when talking about your feelings about someone's music that's my whole point.
Imma play it dumb just like you and ask you if Post Malone should be more rewarded than Tyler since the ACTUAL engagement from people on his music is way higher ? Should we reward the Kid Laroi too ? Or if we only want to talk about MUSIC we're all in agreement that Tyler is making far superior music ?
Y'all sound like DJ Khaled when he was all happy and s*** when Igor left the top 20 and his trash ass album was still charting
And again, you sound like an idiot. I already said that numbers don't tell the whole story but they tell a part of it.
If an album is a good album, people should keep going back to it, no? An album can't be great and have zero replayability. That doesn't work. It may not be as catchy as other mainstream albums but if it's a truly great album, enough songs off it should be good enough to keep going back to. I'm not saying people aren't still playing Tyler's album (that it's still charting proves some people are) but that second/third/fourth week drop showed a massive dip in engagement. We can judge Tyler on that metric because he's that popular. He was popular enough to have his album debut with 60K units more than Doja's album. That was great for the first week but 4 weeks later, why is his album out of the top 20 while Doja's album is still firmly stable in the top 3? That shows a massive dip in engagement (at the very least, from most of the people who supported the album in it's first week), which is my general point.
People won't keep streaming an album they think is wack, especially a month after it's release.
people said this same s*** about Travis until Birds/Astroworld and Migos until Culture 1, it's an excuse for an artist not being able to create highly replayable music. People aren't popstars until they are, we saw this with rap in the mid 2010s, barely any rapper was putting up long term numbers until like 2015
I don't get the Migos and Trav comparisons cuz Migos dead went through a rough time until Culture 1 and Trav really wasnt seen as pop star until Astroworld. Rodeo era Trav wasn't getting no McDonalds collabs and all that my g.
Matter fact Culture 1 and Astroworld had some of those artists biggest hits if we being honest.
And I think it's deeper than just creating replayable music. We're in this era where music is stupidly accessible and artists are dropping something every week. It don't even feel special anymore, and the album rollouts reflect that imo.
I kinda feel like people are gonna heel turn on Donda after it finally drops
Damn no i dont wtf is happening to us can we just not consume for no longer than 2 weeks or is music just coming and going so fast?
a but nah I haven’t listened to it in full since,
but I barely have time to listen to full albums anyway that’s like an event for me
pandemic ruined replay value we gotta keep it a buck
if albums like this, savage mode 2, etc. dropped in 2018 they wouldve been everywhere

Ngl 2018 was a wild ass year in terms of music feeling like a big event
no but i don’t really listen to tyler in general so i’m just returning to my normal listening habits regarding his music ie nonexistent
This also maybe its this lol
KTT fell back from worshiping the album once questions about the age of Tyler’s girl came up

yea that's my point. Migos weren't superstars/popstars until Culture 1 came out, bad and boujee is what proper blew them up. same with Travis, goosebumps was what blew him up to superstar/popstar status & then sickomode/astroworld took that a step further
There is nothing replayable on Tyler's album, he has always strugled his entire career making replayable music, it's just a him issue
I can’t believe I’m in such a vast minority
I can’t go a day without playing it. Play it more now then I did when it came out

Facts, that’s why I love short albums now
