When it comes to CMIYGL, part of me wonders what this album would've been if he just chose to exclude stuff about the girl They were chilling together around March-May and I'm sure he's had some of these beats and ideas before then.

Maybe an album about wealth and travelling around the world, but then being locked up and stuck at home because of the pandemic. How he was reminded of what's actually happening around him (Manifesto) and the enlightenment this gave him. That the material things aren't as important as the influence he has and his potential to inspire. Kinda like an inverted TPAB - instead of travelling changing his perspective, being cooped up at home changed his perspective. I think this would make the album age better and I don't just mean this because of the age thing. Wilshire is boring to listen to after you heard it 10 times and all the brags get old if you don't have that song to provide the context

yes i agrée that’s why songs that reflect on material wealth are cool in the moment but age horrible after a few listens

I don't mind all the flexing, as long as there's a broader context to justify spending so much time on the album doing it. If this was the same album, minus Wilshire and track 10 - people would be pissed because Tyler spent a whole album basically rubbing it in our faces how wealthy he is and how much he has I'm guessing Tyler had something else in mind because the Reign posts happened as recent as March-May and he probably already started working on the album by then

I can't put my finger on why but Tyler last 2 albums sound like masterpieces for a week but when it comes to daily listening it just doesn't grab me like that.

Maybe it's his style of rapping / flows aren't that addictive.
