NEW KUNG FU KENNY
WHATEVER HAPPENS ON EARTH STAYS ON EARTH
WE GON PUT IT IN REVERSE
Still his worst album
That just speaks volumes of how excellent his discography is.
His worst is still better than most rappers best
(I don't think Damn is his worst though)

Section 80 lowkey a classic but thats too hot of a take
Still his worst album
hmm I disagree but aint saying too much cause even his worst album better than most rappers best. I think this is better than section 80 but I love Section 80
I tried my hardest to get into this album but never clicked with me whatsoever. Besides Humble sounds like some song made over cheap FL studio beat and some radio bait tracks sprinkled in, although it contains his top tier tracks.

Album was an 8/10 to me when it dropped and I still feel that way. Its a great album, any other rapper would be lucky to have it in their discography, but Kendrick came off making GKMC and TPAB so I don't quite understand all the praise and "his best album" claims. Feel like it was love that critics and some listeners regretted not giving TPAB so they felt they had to make up for it. That album should've won a Pullitzer prize because its more culturally significant and doesn't have tracks as bad as (imo) GOD and LOVE Also FEAR first verse should be more criticized, I hate that "I beat your ass" repetition. Kendrick could've done better there. I think a lot of people were caught up in the initial hype and like Fantano, think the album is still great but not as great as they initially thought. This contends with S80 and barely beats it, GKMC and TPAB are just on another level.
If I were part of that grammy committee and voting for best rap album that year, my ranking would be 4:44 > Flower Boy > DAMN. Flower Boy means a lot more in Tyler's discography than DAMN does in Kendrick's, dude did a complete 180 and was sincere about it. Would've been amazing to see Tyler win a Grammy for that. But that's a tough one, I'd say DAMN is better but I prefer Flower Boy
The beginning is one of the best uses of stereo panning I've ever heard, I still remember sneaking to the bathroom with headphones to smoke and felt like I was tripping before I even lit my bowl
Is kendrick the best rapper at story telling ever? Duckworth, art of peer pressure, how much a dollar cost and the first half of sing about me display the best I've ever heard tbh. Closest I've ever heard are some nas and lupe songs
7/10 album for me at best, genuinely can’t even get through it front to back without losing interest, lust, love and god aren’t good songs. Pride and fear aren’t for me either. If this was a Cole album not a Kendrick album there’s no way it’d be universally praised IMO
