Classic albums have impact.

Blueprint 2
Magna Carta
Blueprint 3
Kingdom Come
4:44 definitely had impact
Really? In what way?

Made more impact than any Jay album other than Blueprint
Black Album
BP1
Reasonable Doubt
4:44
4:44 and American Gangster are really 4a and 4b. Both great latter day Hov albums , each with their own small flaws but still respected and revered in his catalog.
Vol 2 is top 5.
Made more impact than any Jay album other than Blueprint
Nah. Vol 2 made him a star. The Black Album was his "swan song" and actually elevated his career another level.
4:44 was good cause we were surprised Jay could still rap at that level. It was dope content wise and put a masterful period to his discography. But it didnt shake the world like his other big albums. Even BP3 had huge records. Not to say a classic needs to have those but those songs show the impact.
How many classic Hov songs are on 4:44?

Kill Jay Z, Story of OJ, Family Feud, Bam, Marcy Me, and Legacy are all classics
It didn’t have any huge records mostly cause it was Tidal exclusive

Outside of Story Of OJ none of those other songs really resonated outside of the culture and you can say that's by design but it means its appeal was limited in terms of impact.
Great album. Top 5 easily. But not his best.
