stupid f*** listened to smile, marcy me, and legacy and thought he said "nothing on the album" stupid f***ing cracker
please tell me how "he sounds lazy on this" and "he wasn't saying anything on here" is a valid criticism. i get s***ting on jay z is your personality/gimmick on here but don't act like you said anything worth addressing in this thread nigga
You really think those nothing spoken word raps are anything but lazy lol? If YB did the same s*** yall would be clowning on him so hard
And yeah he’s not saying anything interesting . Just regurgitating finance bro s*** and very basic stuff about relationships. He’s 60 years old this s*** is embarrassing
You would love volume 1. To me thats Jay’s most consistent writing top to bottom. It’s crazy all his peers agree and he’s only coming around now
Absolutely adore Vol. 1. Tied for my favorite Jay album along with Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint. 4:44 my fourth favorite, even though it’s my favorite writing of his. The musicality just doesn’t live up to the other three IMO, and the flow is a more spoken word type which just doesn’t sound as nice as the way he used to rap.

i like yb's music so idk who you addressing this to
we clearly didn't listen to the same album if all you got out of it was spoken word and business talk
I thought it was kind of the opposite. Production is good dont get me wrong but his delivery on this with his wisdom and pain is amazing and would sound good acapella.

Vol 1 is his 3rd best album to me behind Blueprint and Black album
Tell me what exactly what he was saying that is “wisdom” to you lol
How is telling his story about his infidelity and the pain that came with it, being financially literate and smart with your money/art, and stating the sad fact how a successful african american is viewed as still not good enough in this f***ed country and to come together as a community and better your people not wise?

I’m not sure where to even begin with this
Genuine brain damage
Still has the best rapping on a major hip hop album since it released

What’s your thoughts on Kill Jay Z and Smile, because those lyrics don’t fall under either of the things you mentioned
I enjoyed the verse about Prince on too, that was deeper than what you’re saying, it was an interesting look at their relationship and the industry
Also f*** the content, the wordplay alone all over it is brilliant
What’s your critique on the “old fellas stop acting brand nu like PAC ain’t have a nose ring too” ? Like we might have to just look at single bars and have you tell us what’s wrong
Describe what’s lazy about Smile verse 3? So many questions and I don’t expect you to be able to
I’m not sure where to even begin with this
Just what I got from it, what is your pov?
Dumbass smile dumbass 4:44 dumbass legacy dumbass Marcy me dumbass whole f***ing album fucm you dumbass
idk how you could listen to smile, caught their eyes, and marcy me and say he was lazy it’s remarkably nimble flowing and dense lyrics it’s simultaneously one of the best rap performances of the past decade while not rapping about random BS

issue with is vol. 1 even tho it has some of his lowest lows it has some of his highest highs
reading thru the thread and OP prolly bored with nobody to talk to so he just typing away stuff on the internet that he knows will get a rise out of people. get a productive hobby OP
Jay is a professional snake and enemy of the people but saying this in the current climate is simply not true
A Written Testimony is way better though
