while i somewhat agree with the comparison to Gaetz (i do think theres a difference because Gaetz is in office and supposedly against everyhing he was being alleged of though), people think it's funnier with Hunter Biden because he's in proximity to someone in power rather than a real political force himself, and the situation regarding him is so ridiculous because it's being used as a partisan cudgel rather than a real meaningful exposé. like wow you're telling me some dude who's rich is degenerate and broke the law, who would have guessed?
the conservative media angle has been so ridiculous from early it's dimmed the severity of other allegations if they are true. spamming pics of a guy taking nude selfies and doing crack would be a lot more meaningful if he was a politician or CEO or just any public figure who presented himself as a meaningful political force or something, but that obv isnt the case; he's just a dude related to a president who has so many other blatant obvious angles of criticism honing in on his crackhead son is moronic.
i don't think anyone is against him being investigated except aforementioned twitter lunatics, it's just that it's likely not going to happen regardless of what he did (whether it's just smoking crack and stealing money from his father or something more sinister), especially in the usual climate of what the rich get away with, so with that in the background and the fact the outward actions don't seem as overtly evil as most other of the rich, it's somewhat hard not to laugh at from a distance given the spectacle of it

I fully agree with your bit on people not taking any of this s*** seriously in regards to politicians messing with teenage escorts and mistresses. This is some s*** that's been hinted at and discussed since...shit before most of us were probably even born. Along with politicians just getting legitimately caught up with that s*** and arrested. Most times let off with a slap on the wrist because they have the power and means to get out of that.
