even drake can’t compare IMO, 50 truly was everywhere, you didn’t even have to have an interest in popular culture to know who 50 and g-unit was

he had video games, movies, a clothing line, shoe collabs all at the same time

even curtis did almost 700k first week, i believe thats bigger than any of drakes first week numbers in terms of albums sold.

if 50 was in this streaming era he would shatter records. a billion streams i bet.

Drake is musically bigger than 50(hard to argue with the Billboard numbers) but definitely not in terms of popularity and fame.

I bet you more people outside North America know who 50 Cent is than Drake even today. A lot of people in non-English countries still mainly associate hip hop with the music from Aftermath and Death Row to this very day.

I feel like 50 should've dropped that dance album black magic after curtis...

  • Jan 1, 2021

I heard he was working with r1 and timbaland and s*** that would’ve made him a even bigger International star

Yeah both album definitely received hate for no reason. But rap was going in another direction at the time, wayne was killing it drake and cole was coming up and kanye and hov was dropping s*** to. I wish in 07 50 couldve dropped BISD with curtis singles

    i agree with this

for example, you could take some random kid living in a eastern european village and they may not know who drake is but they'll know who snoop dogg and 50 cent are

curtis was so disorganized. street tracks mixed in with weird pop songs with even weirder features. no direction at all on the album

i get money is prob my fav of 50's big singles, and i like some of the street songs that are on there. but its got a lot of junk too. the em collab was trash too.

    BISD is better imo

Imagine going to the mall as a kid and seeing 50 posters all over clothing stores

    Miss ads like these

Travis might've surpassed this in 2020. Sony/PlayStation, Fortnite, McDonalds, Nike/Jordan, feel like I'm missing some.

Wasn’t there to witness 50 but I feel Travis is more of a sellout whereas 50 stayed true to himself

The night that the g unit album leaked at the same time as the black album was still the craziest leak day I've ever seen on any hip hop site

ah ok, i thought it only did like 700k

50 would beat drakes numbers if he was around right now. all the numbers indicate that. imagine in da club during the streaming era. like i said, over a billion streams

Not sure. Drakes NWTS was the most torrented album oat and still sold 658k first week. 50 never had to deal with illegal downloads like that. And Drake reaches a billion streams often
