Bro 100k in some areas around me( I live in jersey) is literally not much taking into account anything above fixed expenses especially with a family. And I know for a fact in places like NYC and parts of Cali it’s even worse man.

You could literally buy a really nice house in the suburbs of NJ or upstate NYC with that money and not to mention that it’s just $16.5k per person not per family, so if you include the household income per month it’ll be a lot moreDon’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s peanuts and of course with decent budgeting you’re going to be fine. But it’s not necessarily ‘luxurious’ in many parts of the country. Trust me I’m from an area in jersey with an average income around there(before tax to be fair) and it’s literally not a luxurious amount of money factoring in expenses. Real estate taxes alone can eat away over 15k annually on an average home in some of these areas.
