Yes, someone like Elon musk (this specific example) should not be taxed.

The best talent cant AFFORD to be around those cities is what im telling you. The companies see no INVESTMENT in those cities if the cost is too high. Apple has offices in India FOR A REASON.

That's called capitalism, it's true for almost every huge tech company.

And you're joking yourself if you think talent in India is anywhere. near as good as talent in the bay area. Apple and other big companies aren't going to shut down because of a small tax increase, stop f***ing joking yourself.

Idgaf how much money, what gives the government a right to take that large of a chunk? I don’t trust the government enough to think they’d even spend it well.

Ok, let me school you on technology. Truth is you dont need the best talent to maintain software that has already been developed, nor do you need the best talent to develop hardware if you're already going to companies that specialize in mass producing parts you need.

Apple can easily take Indian workers who work for less at the cost of talent because the codebase just needs to be maintained, not developed. Which is what theyve been doing, and why if you go to that "bay area" theyre filled with startup sorries clamoring for a piece of a ever shrinking pie

Sure, but apple is also consistently building NEW software which a lot of the bay area team works on. So you have kind of boxed yourself into a corner with that argument.

Let's not forget about the fact that these companies are also predatory and looking to acquire smaller tech companies, which is easier for them to do when they are working along side them in tech mecca cities.

No, I’m a working class person, what did I do to earn their money? Nothing. Why do I deserve their money? I don’t.

My point is they have no reason to hire new talent. Theyre granfathered into that area, so no i dont think apple will move their head office, but they wouldn't be there with nearly as much staff if the new tax plan is passed, and you dont need to be in the city to poach startups, which in of itself is rare because not every startup is successful. In fact iirc over 70% of them fail
