ethered by nas and renegaded by em so hard, they had to put the words in the dictionary
Ended up signing Nas and still dropping classics whereas Em's last decent album was almost 20 years ago

No s***
Cam s***ted on Jay too i love Jay but niggas was giving him the work
Hov outlasted them all, YOUNG
What’s the difference between a Rapper from Brooklyn and a rapper from Queens?
About $970 Million cocksucka beat it
HOV
Hov outlasted them all, YOUNG
Cause when you’re the goat nothing can bring you down
i gotta respect jay
for going for that top spot
but he definitely underestimated esco
In hindsight, Takeover was the better and more hurtful diss. And just called Hov a f*g a bunch of times and made fun of him for doing tai bo

Jay literally owned that nigga tho
It was the equivalent of Eazy getting paid off Dre Day.

The crazier part of it is that all 3 of the “big 3” early 2000s rap terms like that came from Ether.
Ethered- self explanatory
Renegaded- Nas popularized the narrative of Em murdering Jay on Renegade
Stan- Of course it started with the character from the Em song but Nas saying “you a fan, a phony, a fake, a p****, a stan” was the first time someone used it as slang like that, in this case as an insult
Nas the god for that lowkey
Adidoned soon
Nah ....Pusha not relevant enough for that. Em and Nas were Legends even without Jay association....
Somehow this still a flex for Hov
Yeah, The 3 kings of the time, Jay Nas and Em, all crossover within the words Ether, Renegade, and Stan, all having something to do with each. Pretty beautiful actually
Broo I love that track and I just can't see how. Maybe it was an in the moment thing cause I really don't see how he bodied Jay in that track
It’s mostly just about Em’s hunger and faster flow on it, when he comes in it’s kind of like a shot to the arm so I can see it, I thought he was the better one but when I read into jay’s lyrics I think they’re probably equal.

i see people say this all the time now but i disagree
i feel like jay's point about illmatic being the only great nas album is wrong
like it was written doesn't exist
also considering i am... nastradamus would have been another classic without the leaks
nas brought up some relevant points that people don't often mention for some reason
for example jay being a super fan of nas
jay mentioned nas multiple times before this beef and sampled him on his album
his "you made it a hot line i made it a hot song" bar was a nice rebuttal but the point still stands in my eyes
as much as jay is jay, he knows exactly who nas is
the man coined the phrase stan
that's hard
that's an automatic body imo
jay should have dedicated all of the verses to nas imo
i get that he was positioning himself as the king of new york and i respect that
but nas isn't the one to take lightly
and i think the result of the leaks during the i am... nastradamus convinced him that it was the appropriate time to strike
i admire the move
but i'd be willing to bet jay would have done things a lil differently in hindsight
plus last real nigga alive is the best song to come from the beef anyways
that's just my take though

hate to break it to ya but no Nas wasn't the first person using it as slang. it was being thrown around at male groupies damn near the day stan dropped lol. First person on record maybe but it wasn't that crazy.
