These sponsored protests are just participation trophies at this point. Government has a lock on how to control protests to be passive and weak

gotta a lot of eye rolls when I screamed Trump isn’t American

This s*** is pointless imo
Nothing will change
If this helps people from offing themselves or feel a sense of community I guess so be it but I don't understand realistically what people are expecting. These facists hold all the power and could care less if poor Americans don't fall in line. If as many people protesting today went out and voted we wouldn't be where we are today
Be safe yall
It was ok
What y’all do
gotta a lot of eye rolls when I screamed Trump isn’t American
why isn’t he? saying stuff like this kind of implies there’s a separation between Trump as an individual and the entire history of the American ruling class, the founding of America as a settler nation, and the actions it takes to maintain its role in the world today and the relative status of Americans in comparison to the rest of the world and global south particularly. Trump is merely a symptom. On top of being an insult to all the indigenous, African, Chicano and numerous other oppressed people worldwide who have died in the name of American democracy and freedom. This is what absolves people from being critical of imperialism as a whole and limits it to individual actors or “one side” having most of the blame.

I don’t like what he’s done to a lot of families and children who were living happily in America before he took office. there’s no together in that. it doesn’t scream a great America to me or American values. salute lol

American values are murdering black people, starting wars, and stealing land

Yeah but that doesn’t really go against anything I said, ICE has been deporting many people since its inception, the Obama administration has statistically higher deportation numbers than the Bush, Biden or Trump administrations. Yes, there have been more optics around it now and you could say they’ve grown more emboldened in how they are going about it optics wise but ignoring all of that and focusing on what has happened since Trump took office is ahistorical. And this isn’t to downplay what ICE has been doing and continuing to do since Jan. 2025.
I’m not even against or disagreeing with your general sentiment, just trying to say why for alot of protestors comments like that aren’t as shocking/accusatory as it sounds.
They just killed our dem state legislator 2 of them. Wtf.
RIP. that story sounds so extremely sus

“This isn’t to downplay what ICE has been doing”
-literal maga talking point that can be be explained with any inkling of research lmao

It’s far far worse now man, you are downplaying it full stop.

So explain how Obama administration had higher deportation numbers than any of the administrations I listed? Just because this makes you uncomfortable doesn’t change the validity of anything I said.
You all are seriously so focused on ignoring the bipartisanship superstructure of American imperialism you miss the first for the trees and assume any critique on any non-Republican admin is a personal attack or someone is MAGA.
It’s far far worse now man, you are downplaying it full stop.
Saying it doesn’t make it true. Just because The White House official account is posting cringe ASMR videos of immigrants getting deported doesn’t magically make ICE 100x stronger than it was 10 years ago, nor does that mean all the children in cages who have been there for years didn’t exist.
You think all it takes is one administration for the funding, infrastructure, and logistics of even carrying out mass deportations can happen within months?
