I will never understand the hate for this absolutely masterpiece
they be trying too hard 2 be cool
Why would his career be over after dropping one of the best albums of the 21st century?
TPAB is to Kendrick what The Big Day is for Chance
Big shift in sound that wasn't really asked for that could make or break a career. Kendrick always had the critics on his side tho and is seen as a rappers rapper so it was accepted and even gassed.
If he continued on like that I wouldn't be looking forward to any more projects. DAMN got me excited again and I hope we get K5 later this year.

Big Day is an awful example.

great album
discussion around it is ass tho. niggas only talk about why yt ppl like this album, don't really see people actually dig deeper into the themes and concepts of this record
It’s funny because white people on ktt are the ones who say only white people liked this album. Everyone I knew listening to this album when it dropped and fw were black
There’s a reason it’s kendricks lowest selling album, if anything the gangster rappers that people hype up are the ones mainly white people listen to thats another discussion though.
it's just crazy that he made such a cohesive project, but each song is completely diff lol
niggas always joke about this not having no songs to play in front of the hoes, but alright goes crazy in public, king kunta bumps, these walls without intro is a jam
its def a personal headphones listening album, but he really got all types of different vibes for diff listening experiences, and still came out with a cohesive record.

Just saying it's a big departure from the music that made people fw them

yea bro and its not even just yt ppl
non black people love gangster rap, they really feel like that's the "authentic black experience" lol
it is a whole diff discussion tho, id rather discuss how beautiful the sonics on this record is.
Still get goosebumps when I listen to this.
Incredible.

this the album that made him one of my favorite artist tbh.
Section 80 was great and GKMC was a classic but this right here.
Kendrick doesn't even have to top this imo but the fact he was able to make an album like this at his age and stage in his career, insane
Never in my life have I seen so many people call something an absolute classic and grower two hours after release. It's a nice album (with flaws imo) but the hype back then was ridiculous. It was decided to be a classic before it was even released. Even though the reception to i was lukewarm as a lead single. Tbf The Blacker the Berry had people excited.
