As the years have gone on and as Tyler has released other projects, Wolf has become an album I hear less and less about.
But it's a special album to me. It was what introduced me initially to Tyler. It was the album where he broke into the mainstream for good, where he got his first Pharrell feature, and where he really started to show off mature artistic ability. I feel that the album just embodies nostalgia and even as it was released in spring, it really is an ideal summer album. Love every second.
If you have memories with this one, talk about em
Goddamn 7 years alrighty Wtf man
freshman year of high school
My favorite Tyler album
Listening to it now then perfect mix of nostalgia and quality
Real ones remember bimmer being teased at the end of the domo23 vid
the box set version was being sold at Best Buy marketed as limited so my 8th grade self begged my mom to drive me to get it lmao
the first and last time I ever ran to cop a cd like that. My favorite Tyler album for sentiment reasons.
but I mean cmon, treehome95? going on letterman or whatever to play it on the piano in some shades on his "I wanna be Stevie s***"?
I remember waiting up until 12 AM EST for the domo23 vid to drop same day as the album announcement, it was like feb 13th or some s***. was never a fan of domo23 but when bimmer happened I knew he was going to deliver.
its stuff like that that set the precedent for him to become an icon. people won't appreciate it to the fullest extent until at least a decade from now.
