Almighty So is finally seeing its day in the sun in retrospect but its so hard to place how important this was for Keef and the moving rap landscape to come in 2015-2016 when SoundCloud and the big artists from that scene started to pop off.
Undeniably releasing Bang 2 after Keefs first commercial release was extremely divisive and put many people off thinking Keef was someone who was gonna stick around, but this mixtape, Almighty So, has it all.
A move in a newer direction, while less melodic than some of his stuff on Finally Rich, Keef really showed up with a whole mixtape of great stand alone songs that were forward thinking for the time. Its so hard to explain the sound, it was clearly a major progression from his drill roots and his more clean sounding songs from the Finally Rich era while not as gritty or inaccessible as about half of Bang 2 was to most.
Songs like Sucka, Self, Ape S***, and Woulda Coulda have this dark evil and hard vibe but is so heavily contrasted with something like I Kno, Yesterday and Baby Whats Wrong With You which all feature more upbeat sounds and feel like this weird but great mix between the Fruity Swag sound that was popular in ATL in the late 2000's-early 2010s and Keefs more aggressive sound from something like Back From The Dead.
Clearly this tape, specifically the song Me, would go on to inspire the likes of Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Yachty to go on to make there music that you can feel the influence directly from Keef in the release, production, and sounds they wanted to rap over.
Blew My High also an incredible highlight, really this tape highlights one of Keefs biggest strengths which is his quotables and being able to turn somewhat mundane lyrics occasionally into these hype or super hard moments on a track. You can feel the charisma through the tracks and this is one of his works that demonstrates it the best in his whole catalog.
I love this tape, I think its undeniable the impact his release strategy for this and the types of sounds he was exploring would inspire many of the artists that blew up in the years following this release. So happy this dropped on my bday 8 years ago along. Iconic cover, was a great comeback moment after the mixed reception from Bang 2, and holds up incredibly well still today. A groundwork for what was to come even up to today where Hyperpop and Pluggnb are even inspired by something like I Kno. Timeless music.

Hey Sosa, why you so high?
I gotta get high to balance my low
I'm movin' too fast, I gotta pour a four
Spend lots of cash, 'member we used to be broke
Hey Sosa, what you got a gun for?
'Cause I'ma shoot when I see my opponent
Shootin' late-ass nights and in early-ass mornings
But hold up, I gotta roll me a Dutch
You coulda just said “yea it’s dope” and kept moving

I wanna say Gecs in particular have cited Keef as a direct influence. He's a pretty common favorite in the hyperpop scene and songs like this show how ahead of his time he was
