8000 words is very doable and should be easy if you’re well versed on the subject.

Have your main idea set and your strategy or outline to reach the main idea formatted out and just start writing. You should have more than 8000 words by the time you finish. The hard part should be trimming the fat and not exceeding the word count by too much.
