In 2010 Kanye West sampled Manfred Mann’s Earth Band's You Are I Am on his record A Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, creating one of the year's stand-out hip hop records So Appalled, featuring Jay Z, and Pusha T on vocals.
Manfred then 're-sampled' the sample to create a new track, enlisting hot new UK artist Caitlyn Scarlett for her vocal skills and mixing Kanye’s stripped-out beat with some trademark Mann synth; a new hip hop fusion is born.
