No other artist on this site or in hip hop fandom, s*** even music fandom, has their dating history, haircuts, physique, and mere social cache with heterosexual women as a consumer market, referenced as often and unerringly as Drake does from his male fans. It's truly insane, not because they're attracted to him, because he is an attractive man, but because they feel that this somehow makes him above any kind of reasonable criticism or mere comparison to other artists. This is why after half a decade stans can't let it go with a beef that is long dead, because to them, it was more than a rapper losing a beef, it was a lover's, a hero's, a damn near god's, honor being compromised. They need to fight back like rabid dogs anytime someone merely doesn't subscribe to that exact mode of thinking. It really doesn’t matter if Pusha’s background is more authentic at this point because they’re both studio gangsters at this juncture of their career. All that matters is the music and Drake’s happens to be better as of recent, and rap is a sport that’s all about what you did lately.

This site (and to a greater extent the internet) will make it seem like everyone is either a Drake fan and Pusha hater or vice versa and it’s really like bruh idc what beef these dudes got I enjoy both of their music so I’m not gonna get too personally invested. Like why is Drake getting braids posted in the music section of a forum? Why are his selfies kept in an archival state within the context of his musical history? Why do we care one way or another whether or not Drake is lifting weights and about how his physique looks (obviously we all want to see Drake healthy and happy but beyond that...who cares?). These points are all brought up in musical discussions about him, and on music forums within their music sections. It's seriously deranged stuff, esp when people criticize his sexual partners for being "not good enough" for Drake (specifically referencing the narrative people were hawking about the mother of his only son at the moment, who is out of the league of everyone itt)

Would his music be less valuable to you if he wasn't as handsome? How do you think that would make Drake himself feel, knowing that your enjoyment of his music is tethered to his physical appearance? Perhaps that's what makes him a genuinely and openly insecure and hurting person. He's truly viewed as a piece of meat by his fans, more so than any other rapper I've ever seen in history, because he's talented, unique, and sexy.
