yeah i'm not planning on playing it for awhile. i do want to listen soon to reflect on impact.

weird that elverum and yorke suffered similar loss and released cathartic records regarding loss.

i don't think anyone's ever released an album which so vividly describes the grief of a husband losing a wife, in a narrative style. very bold, bodacious attempt to surpass the form of the traditional album.

    Great album.

How you feel about You Want It Darker OP? I remember listening to these two albums a lot at the same time and Cohen's always stuck with me more

    damn OP is white

  • Apr 22, 2020

Dark ass album but the vocals can get a bit stagnant. Obviously not expecting the guy to be all that but something in the vein of Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan kept each track refreshing.

I mean he probably didn't even make this album for anyone other than himself and those who went through a similar experience so I don't wanna say too much

  • Apr 22, 2020

ngl i listened to it once, thought it was amazing, and decided to never listen to it again cause of how f***ing devastated I was listening to, especially cause how much I could relate to Phil
