I’m making myself feel better about this by thinking he’s talking about when he finishes hooking up with a woman
Imagine we get Scary Hours 3 dropped tomorrow too
yall really stressed over a 10 second interview clip lol?
I don't think he wants to be dropping this consistently in his 40s
There will be a time where he won't be dropping every year. His output right now honestly can only be matched by one person in the history of rap and that's Wayne.
But idk, I think it's almost unfathomable to think he won't be rapping way into his 50's. It's too lucrative not too but if he falls out of love with it who knows.
He been talking about a graceful exit since a decade ago tbh nothing new
He needs to "retire" and come back like eg. HOV did.
Love Drake - but yearly albums make the public and critics take his work for granted. Stop the oversaturation, let time pass and focus on passion projects.
He said this before. Something along the lines of when the music doesn’t resonate anymore, that’s his cue to start to bow out gracefully

I remember on 106 & park back in the day where he literally said something along the lines of he couldn't see himself rapping past 35 and was going to go into acting lol

We might get some of his best albums in that timeframe who knows
But he gotta slow down making all that music and go back to the slow introspective s*** we all grew up with

I'm pretty sure Drake made the conscious decision to forgo critical acclaim a long time ago.

I don't doubt it. He'll probably be singing more too.
Rappers don’t retire
This is it.
Virtually EVERY rapper that we grew up on, every rapper that our parents grew up on, are still active they just not hot and irrelevant
He needs to "retire" and come back like eg. HOV did.

Nah, less music folks never make sense to me
Focus on passion projects sure, but doesn't mean he has to sit on them just letting time pass.
2022 perfect example, he wanted to make a dance album so he did and dropped it without any hoopla. That's what the fans want, who cares what the critics want.

Yep
And also too like...Ion think the time passing between albums for article be intentional or desired.
"Niggas be full of excuses, act like they taking they time" - Privileged rappers
The time be passing because artists be tryna line up album dates, be tryna find a date on the calendar that makes sense with the label, figuring out a promo run, tryna get the label to count your project as an album, there's no virtuous act that rappers are trying to employ by taking long between albums. It's 99% of the time the aforementioned.
IMO drake drops a lot because he doesn't have to do any of that. 99% of other rappers however do.
