The average ticket price in 2025 is $16, Superman has been on early tracking to do around $180 mil opening weekend domestically - it’ll exceed that - and the trailer has old people crying, not to mention this is people’s first Superman movie since Reeve. That sounds like a safe bet for a billy
I get the apprehension but looking at the facts, I’m going with this crossing a billy
Look at trailer and teaser views too and how fast those numbers got to where they got to
I dont know about a billi but i think it can do the MOS numbers which is a pretty big W considering superhero fatigue and how tarnished the DC movie brand is since 2013.
But on one hand this is the most anticipated superhero film in years so it just might hit the billi

He has but that hasn't really translated to high or sustained success in his live action adaptations. Spider-Man/Iron Man/Bat Man have all seen bigger success in their live action adaptations and that's a fact. Hopefully, this new Superman movie starts to change that.

Yeah but that's not really indicative of superman not being able to drum up anticipation or excitement. Moreso the quality of the superman movies in the past 10 years have been lackluster.

It’s also the fact that no Superman movie has been in that “category #2” I’ve been talking about. If that s*** isn’t Dark Knight level to justify the groundedness (and even TDK has comic booky excitement), then audiences want films that embrace the comic bookiness
This being the first Superman movie in that full on comic booky vein is gonna do wonders for it. This is Spider-Man 2002 all over again I’m telling y’all

Yeah, but still, my point stands: the popularity and worldwide appeal of Superman somehow has never translated to his live action movies being really successful. That has the chance to change with this movie and like James Gunn said, the entire DCU hinges on this movie being VERY successful.
For his sake, I hope it crosses 1B at the box office. I could definitely see it happening, especially if the word of mouth about the movie ends up being solid. It has everything going for it so I guess we'll see what happens.

I just hope James Gunn delivers with the movie. I think people are very excited to throw the weight of their support behind a new Superman again.

To a degree yes, but only for the modern era.
Superman 78 when adjusted for inflation hits that billi mark and it's sequels close as well.
But yeah a lot rests on this one being successful. I think as long as it's good bare minimum it'll be very successful tho because of the brand and appeal
