as someone that was not particularly moved by any of the trailers, cgi, or any of the reveals for this movie....... this s*** f***ing blew me away

it was visually stunning, the cast was perfect all across the board, even my worries of there being too many heroes in here were quickly alleviated as they all served their role and didnt take away attention from superman as a character. and the best part, supermans actually saving people!!!

this is the first gunn movie i ever seen and he made a damn good first impression for me. im sold

Gunn didn’t have the guts to clearly speak against Israel so he chose Russia as a generic red scare villain. White Ukranian coded victims aren’t as relevant as brown ones so he made a pseudo Russia v Palestine metaphor that didn’t achieve anything tangible. If anything he watered down what’s really going on so the whole Superman/Justice Gang saves the day moment felt like a slap in the face. Missed opportunity to have a really meaningful plot underneath all the Supe s***. Gunn is a p**** for that

Def succeeded without question domestically but I feel like the story for WB is the international performance here. Doesn’t seem like it’s reaching audiences abroad at all and that’s gonna cut the legs of its overall numbers. It’s prob gonna be around MoS

Overall a good start for universe and a massive improvement from all DC shared universe films in the last 7 years or so. They have an audience now which sets them well for sequel hits

how Mr.Terrific was portrayed legit brought tears to my eyes man. having a cool ass black super hero was f***ing amazing to experience. idc what people say, idc how niggas feel, representation will always matter
