Need some time to sit with it but fresh out of the theater it was good. Flawed but very fun. It gets you excited enough for the future of DCU which is its main goal
I do think the bigger fan you are of Superman the more you’ll get out of it. I went with casuals who only know Supes through his live action iterations and they weren’t as big on it

Never been into superman but this was incredible

Could be just the ppl I went with
Personally I had a good time with it
There’s no way it was only $100M
If true (almost certainly not), this is the best allocation of $100M I've ever seen. This is on-par with The Force Awakens in term of being everywhere and on everything, and the marketing budget for that was about $250M... ten years ago.
Reading through thread and damn I hope it grows on me as much as y’all loving it
Don’t get me wrong I liked it but y’all talking about it like it’s the anti-MCU comic book movie when, to me, it’s more like one of the good MCU comic book movies
I have so many movies to catch up on this year but I have this at #4 right now for 2025
Unless this has some supernaturally abnormal hold, this movie will be lucky to cross $600M at the box office.
This was a lot more political than I thought this was going to be
Michael Ian Black is Tucker Carlson
just got out the cinema, all I can say right now is first half of this is peak, really good stuff.

Last half too
It was incredible, I really enjoyed it. I’ve always been a bigger a DC fan than marvel. Very excited for the future
The good: Music
The bad: Cinematography
The good: Casting
The bad: Pacing (Not enough attachment to characters)
The good: Pacing (Episodic structure makes it feel like a Comic Book)
The bad: Jimmy Olsen subplot (sorry, I thought it was dumb)
The good: Mr Terrific, Krypto, and Lois Lane (could have used much more of her as reporter / love interest, less of her as tagalong hero)
Light. Fluffy. Messy. Gunn still excels when he focuses on the weirdo characters who have a bit more bite to them. There's a very James Gunn thesis about "kindness being Punk Rock" but it feels surface level, rather than etched into the DNA of this thing. But, this is only kind of a problem, because it's frankly quite cute.
Probably Gunn's third best superhero film after Gaurdians 3 and The Suicide Squad. I am seated for the Supergirl project, and Peacemaker Season 2.
Cus I’m a punk rocker yes I am
Whats the reasoning for this? Tarriffs?

Once COVID hit China kind of went and surpressed releases of US films in their country.
For example, No Way Home and Nope didn’t come out in China at all. Both still did really well but if NWH came out in China it likely would’ve crossed 2 billi
