they sued her because she wouldn't agree to share the name with Lady Antebellum. She asked for 10 million and than they sued her.

I don't think this changes the fact that the situation smacks of entitlement from the band's perspective, and the optics of a white group undergoing a name change for ostensibly anti-racism reasons before going on to sue a much less established black singer who's used the name for 20 years just makes it worse.
Can't speak to the singer's state of mind, but it seems plausible that she's not really interested in the money and deliberately went for a huge figure to make a point about the principle
