This is such a weird story. Lady Antebellum changes their name (did anyone ask them to do that?) to a name that’s been taken for 20 years, and then sues the OG Lady A so they can have the name? Lmfao what the hell

Yeah I’m midway through the third one right now and it says that Lady Antebellum has already been going by Lady A? Weird

they sued her because she wouldn't agree to share the name with Lady Antebellum. She asked for 10 million and than they sued her.

I don't think this changes the fact that the situation smacks of entitlement from the band's perspective, and the optics of a white group undergoing a name change for ostensibly anti-racism reasons before going on to sue a much less established black singer who's used the name for 20 years just makes it worse.

Can't speak to the singer's state of mind, but it seems plausible that she's not really interested in the money and deliberately went for a huge figure to make a point about the principle
