how was the Mica Levi score?
Score and cinematography were pretty good no complaints there
Felt pretty aimless and just flat out boring tbh
there's no story?
thats a shame. i want to like his stuff but could never connect to them emotionally.

there’s a plot and it’s pretty easy to follow lol. It’s just not an interesting plot to some people
Good movie. I’ve enjoyed thinking about it afterwards more than I enjoyed the viewing experience
It’s sparse to a fault and the narrative is nonexistent. There is no standout performance, really barely any, and there is both purposeful and regular boredom seeded throughout. The film felt more like a meditation exercise. These people are “normal” in their domesticity but acutely not normal in every other way. You’re left feeling like a true alien when you leave the theater
Ultimately Glazer still finds ways to discomfort the audience or shoot in destabilizing ways, I think its worth seeing especially if you like his work. But don’t see this in a big theater, its just too quiet

I still have one but that is honestly the reason I haven’t been going back to it. Too much quippy s*** and not enough discussion about the actual movie. Just feels performative and dumb.

Wait fr? I’ve never noticed that. Honestly I only read the reviews of ppl I follow

Yeah, I mean maybe I am just being pessimistic about something people are just having fun with but if you click on a film it’s mostly glib, quirky blurps. Just seems like a hipster pissing contest on who can say the most Twitter-like thought.
Eh. I get what this was going for, it's hard to miss it, but the central familial drama wasn't interesting enough to transcend the central hook of watching horrible well-to-do people do banal upper middle class things with Auschwitz in the background. Glazer doesn't risk making the characters especially likable so the story creeps by with a lot of lingering tension due largely to historical context and the score. It's not like the acting or writing or cinematography or anything was bad, it's fine, but I never really got into the story.
Levi's score really was the best part, especially the credits track. Went so hard in the theater.
Not even Alamo is playing it why a24
Yeah wtf is this bullshit
There’s like one theater in LA
