man f*** Charlie Sheen but it’s nice to know spring breakers was one of their first 3 so the point still stands
Beau Is Afraid bombing really f***ed them up
Lmao like they didn’t have their biggest box office hit the year before and didn’t get Zone of Interest to half a 100million the same year Beau is Afraid was released.
Even if it’s just an Ari Aster case, they are funding his next movie
time for my independently funded research paper on A 24’s role in the mass infiltration of stan brainlets in film spaces

Is Paramount clout chasing because they’re releasing a musical this summer with Kendrick Lamar?
Or is that different to you?

I think it’s hilarious that A24 was so shocked that Beau bombed at the box office.
I actually liked the movie for the most part, but did they really think that they would make a good profit on a 3 hour surreal and wacky panic attack that costs $35 million to produce???

Believe this was phoenixs either first or second role post the (first) joker that had to be it

if you can't turn a profit on a $35 million movie, your marketing department f***ed up

No not necessarily. A24 tends to produce a lot of films that just aren't very digestible for general audiences, but they have very modest budgets so it usually isn’t too big of a risk.
But for Beau is Afraid, that isn’t a type of film that would ever make $70 million+ in the box office
That would be like a studio expecting Inland Empire to make a big profit. Even if Lynch had put a lot more money and promotion in to that film, odds are it still wouldn’t have made a good profit .
