i dont understand how that movie is a classic
That’s good s***, I’ll think on how that adds to the equation
Thanks for the suggestions
yeah I had a friend who was addicted to s***got into prostitutes but he admitted it was more about the feeling of power and the women enjoying it. Just all interesting angles to explore. Sex, sexuality and how it relates to mental health. So yes society is some what of a factor, feelings of shame, feelings of loneliness or longing for something more. When you said comfort I thought of comfort food so for some couples especially during a pandemic an argument turned to s***and eventually baby or an argument could be lack of s***frustration with each other. A release of inhibitions. Exploring the brain chemicals side of like oxytocin and attachment. Same way someone is attached to their favorite cover, blanket, pillow, sexual partner, lover.
So on the male side not just feeling like he hasn't had enough partners but feeling like he isn't enough for the partners he does have in whatever ways. All the ways we try to feel comfortable in our body, mind, sexuality and gender. Will be interesting to see where you land. Cause some will take the plot as like religious views of sexuality some how but I get what you going for

I get it . Especially when the world falling apart most

doesn't matter if you don't understand, craft of filmmaking on a high level, its been unanioumsly acclaimed by their peers and general public, thematic elements of movie are timeless and genre defying, biggest element of a classic movie is being timeless and this is without a doubt timeless

The Whale timeless to you?
I'm sorry if you don't like this movie I can never trust your taste in cinema or thoughts on craft of filmmaking ever again
Lol
the juxtaposition between the silliness of action/fight scenes and core family story is beautifully done.
Not even close, good movie tho
nah nah nah not doing it to compare or put down the Whale was just asking if its timeless to him because it means something to him. I think we all should have different timeless movies. Timeless to one can be trash to another as long as we recognize something can be each to someone. I get him not loving this movie.

you liked the big fight action climax ?
Like it was cool in what they were going for but around that point is when it felt the movie lost momentum. I am trying to think of how they could have conveyed it differently but it worked.
what is a timeless movie to you?

I mean i'm not biggest fan of the godfather but objectively it's a timeless classic, everyone can have own tastes and preferences but certain films will stand test of time and be watched 100 years from now. EEAAO is one of them

That all sounds pretty based but I might not have room to explore everything haha. I do think loneliness is at the heart of it. The world is collectively having a loneliness crisis.
An o***** is the ultimate comfort, I know that

It passes my timeless check too
Saving Private Ryan
true I just ask cause helps me know your taste a little better. Saving Private Ryan always a great one. Tom Hanks early career all bangers. Recent career probably been good but haven't seen as many of them

you going to place it during something like the pandemic of isolation or just normal times. Yeah can't touch on all that but wanted to give some things to thing about. Seems you get the central idea and you 30 pages in so you get it. Glad you are creating.
