I actually thought the whole point of the movie was a fight against ironic detachment. Ironic detachment is the bagel. The mothers relationship with her daughter and her relationship with her husband were treated sincerely and grounded all the absurdism. I was balling when Waymond does his speech about being kind. I never cry and that s*** gutted me.

Yes that was done well but I don't need to turn this into a measuring contest about all the times Rick and Morty did similar emotionally resonant moments.

i kno im late but i jus saw this and it was dope only complaint is that the fake ending was better than the real ending
real ending was coo jus kind of corny how it all wrapped up

Yea they went too on the nose wit the mushy mushy s***. And emotionally it did nothing for me unlike what alotta ppl claim
