On MAX right now
Run, don't walk. Essential viewing
just finished my watch on HBO Max.
wow. I’m blown away by this film emotionally. the subject matter was portrayed as real and raw as it could get, and elicited a feeling of loneliness, especially through its somber score. Eva Victor not only is the star in this film, but writes and directs this incredible, moving piece of art. this being their directional debut is quite the feat in itself. Naomi Ackie also gives a wonderful performance and I hope to see her in more.

Yes!! My fav of the year tbh. Worth finding some of the Q&A Panels and interview Eva did about the movie
Totally fell in love with them on and off camera after those. Super endearing, super sharp, super understated and likeable. Amazing presence on camera, amazing look on screen, has a super unique perspective and lens for their story. No idea who Eva was like 10 months ago and now I’m fully in and they one of my fav people working

man I love that! I will definitely check those out. really excited for what they do next
Reminded me a bit of the movie How To Have S***although they approached the subject matter in different ways both had a sense of loneliness in situations where you really need someone in your corner. Sorry, Baby was able to shift tones without it feeling off, the humor wasn’t forced

didn't make that connection until after the film when someone who was interviewing Eva brought it up. but yea. two very different films that sort of toy with similar themes.
just watched last night. Really loved the way they told this story. This is one of those movies that sneaks up on you. Didn't know how i felt about it as i was watching it, but after a day, its stuck with me. Some really great individual scenes in here too, specifically courtroom and sandwich shop.
I loved this a ton. Easily in my top 10 this year. Was especially blown away with the chemistry between Eva and Naomi - honestly one of the best on screen depictions of friendship in recent memory. They’re relationship felt really real to me.
