Those guys are all on wildly different levels though.

• Tyler is a bonafide A-list star, veering into fringe superstar territory and I think his next album might catapult him there

• Gambino, these days, is a bigger name in the film & TV world than in music. He’s got a fanbase, but I wouldn’t say he’s in that upper upper echelon right now. He’s in a weird spot that’s kinda hard to gauge, but in 2024 it definitely feels like he’s more respected for his writing and acting work

• Carti is an internet legend. He completely has a grip on the younger demographic of rap fans, it’s almost cult-like how they revere him. But outside of that niche, I don’t think he has the cultural cache or respect that some of his peers do

• Uzi, about 3-4 years ago, was in the spot Carti currently is right now, but he’s completely lost all his momentum and it honestly feels like most people are pretty burnt out on him by now. He still manages to catch a huge hit every now and then, but it feels like his fanbase is slowly outgrowing him as he tries to bank on their nostalgia

• Yachty is in a weird spot too because on the one hand, he does have a pretty strong niche internet fanbase in a similar (but not as strong) fashion that Carti has, but it also seems like he still gets whopping amounts of hate online. He’s definitely had a resurgence over the past year, but he’s self-sabotaged it himself with the overly pretentious comments and distancing himself from hip-hop when it’s time for “real art”. Honestly, the main thing keeping him relevant right now is his friendship with Drake

So yeah, all of these guys are in wildly different places and Rocky is in a different place from them as well
