Any chance this album lives up to the wait

Going off Punk Rocky, Whiskey, Moncler, Mommy'$, Beloved, and Helicopter

    I'm feeling it's around a 60% chance.

I'd assume Moncler, it'd make the most sense for it to be the opener.

Rocky normally starts his albums off with a track with grandiose production. The only one that didn't was TESTING, and even though I love that album, I'm still confused why he basically used two intro tracks with Distorted Records and ASAP Forever. Should've been one or the other.

Last thing about that: saying Carti is pretentious is absolutely hilarious, that nigga barely even speaks at length about his own projects

Just say you have no media literacy then respectfully, cmon fam that’s laughable

I’m curious as to what you perceive as something that’s actually “highbrow” or “high art” if such a thing even exists

I’ll give you a hint: the lyrics aren’t “I’m go punch that b****”

An artist being pretentious means that they believe their work is inherently more artistic and high-brow than everyone else’s.

Carti is just a weirdo, he’s not pretentious whatsoever

The presentation of Die Lit and WLR were pretentious, and presented themselves as more artistic than they actually were. And it fooled a lot of people, just like Travis and Rocky did

There is absolutely nothing pretentious about the presentations of Die Lit and WLR

We live in a “You’re Doing Too Much” epidemic

Anything beyond the bare minimum gets called tryhard, fake deep, pretentious, etc.

  • Some of the takes in here are off to me.

I first saw Rocky perform in Jan 2012 in Toronto. He only had a mixtape out and buzz was as big as The Weeknd in this city. He brought out Drake to perform take care joints in this small venue with less than 1k people. Artists like him don’t need to prove their relevance. He has a classic in LLA and people who grew up during his run will always be checking for a new Rocky album.

    I think its the opposite

He has his own idea of "high art" and he needs to project it onto everyone else

The most annoying type of music fan. He probably failed as an artist and internally blames it on mainstream audience for being too stupid to understand him
