i was in the middle of doing homework and an old song from Cartier came up on my playlist (Rita Ora w/ 16yrold), and it got me thinking: How hasn't this guy blown up yet--or at the very least, develop a strong, niche fanbase. He's been working with Dylan Brady, 1/2 of the now renowned 100 gecs, for literally his entire career, with the connection helping him get a Night Lovell feature on his debut project at the height of Lovell's rise (Everything Okk).
Cartier's music is mainly rap, as he boasts himself as the "greatest rapper alive," and excels at it--coming onto every track with a special energy that can be made akin to Sheck Wes or when Lil Pump was at his short peak--except he's 10x more versatile than those artists. He made a literal pop album in 2017, which is probably his best project yet:

The albums name is bluntly named Pop, and is solid all the way through it's 9 tracks. "Miami" sounds like a potential Drake demo from the Views era, "Boy" is a commanding pop song showing how talented Cartier is in the songwriting department, and "World Is Watching" is his vocals at their best. The project got little recognition, other than a notable co-sign from Laura Les in a Quarantine interview with Pigeons and Planes, and an addition to a few Spotify playlists--but after this minor buzz, he went back to being relatively unknown, and just dropped another quality album that sounds like nothing else out there:

Maybe it's just me, but I think this dude is seriously deserving of being bigger; He's got a beautiful voice whenever he's in the mood to sing, has a couple dozen flows in his pocket, has catchy hooks and quotables for days, has released more than a few quality projects funded from nobody but himself--and did I mention--he self-produces nearly all of his output? Cartier is, I believe, one of the the hardest working rappers out there, and has still not come up even moderately--and it's a travesty. Hopefully the Gecs put him as a feature on one of their future albums so he gets more recognition, or one of his songs could miraculously pop up on TikTok--more than a few could blow on there from "Aaron Cartier Best Dog" and "Pop."

yes, I have realized that nobody cares and probably won't click on this thread, so I just wasted 20 minutes while I could've been getting this homework done...but if you did, then that's cool, and I hope you like Cartier just as much as I do.

yea i can see that, i always like a couple songs from each project though, but I think a lot of them go hard and Pop is extremely good as a whole and his most serious project
