My point was I dont think exporting goods or enjoying goods that is dubious and f***ed up is a fault from the citizen side. Again what I said is not hard to understand.

An iphone is made with terrible labor, sells you and your neighbor out and gives profit to a dubious company. but you enjoying it as the citizen doesnt make you evil - to me. (if you dont know the f***ed up policies and production behind apple and other similar companies thats a different story). A phone is a need in the mdoern world - but an iphone isnt, but you can buy an iphone and still not like slave labor and piracy breaches which the iphone does support.

Its just an a***ogy that just because an artist or seller is in another country doesnt mean they support that country - especially when their products/art arent directly involved with the government or that space. Its the citizens of that area enjoying said art/product overall, and the citizens are not the ones in charge of the atrocities cause d by the nation.

If this thread was "Beyonce performs for the Israel leaders at their family gathering (which some artists do)" or "Beyonce gives tickets to the Israel leaders" or "beyonce/beyonce's team invited leaders to the screenings" etc. then thats a different story. Like the people that go to North Korea to soley play ball for the leaders there.

I dont understand why its such a venomous issue like op puts it - when we are doing actual thing against our will (citizen wise) that directly supports the actual war and leaders there directly that dioesnt meet the hands of the citizens at all outside of the military.

I dont know. Maybe its because of my personal separation of citizens and governemnt. Which also has to do with being USA and I and others dont even agree with a lot of stuff going on here political and government wise that is destroying lives day by day - such as Israel.

Also Im not saying that you have to like the artist and agree. I'm just saying I dont get or agree with exportation to a country doesnt equal agreement/belief and that I believe citizens are sperate from government/politics in this context. Okay this part I did not know.

But here's my but; I dont think that paints them all as one either. Just like in America, if you look in from outside you think most agree with all the things going on (shout out rando EU posters on the internet that think they know the USA ground floor), but when youre actually here it is not like that at all. And everyday is a tug of war between many different factors from the social and civilian side to the government and political side.

However, I do think you dont have to agree nor even like Beyonce. My point originally was just I didnt understand the stan-like distinction between Weeknd and Beyonce which is what called myy Weeknd Dubai example, & also my general (of course there are extremes) take and belief that citizens are separate from government in this kind of context and day to day speaking - and imo USA is one of the biggest example of that so my belief and even perhaps bias comes from that perspective. I think a lot of people would have reason to disconnect from USA citizens if they see it all as "one unit" without knowing the political intricacies (and corruption that happens anyways against both politics and citizens) and even social everyday nuances.

I respect this position though even if I don't fully agree myself & it actual gave clarity and more meaning than the what I thought stan war disguised as politics (which is a nasty thing to do like its a game), or the biases of the people outside control based off op and some other posts itt
