It’s either celebrities can contribute to the people or they can’t
pick a side
lol I’m glad weeknd did that so this can be an actual conversation, before it’s like oh what can Beyoncé do about it?? When Abel just showed you.
Mr beast just put some wells out there for children who didn’t have water. When he was pretty much hated on every time he did something
Maybe
We can hold some of these guys accountable for things.
Where in Africa? It's a giant continent with the most countries on Earth inside of it lol
Nigeria and South Africa don't represent all of Africa
Same for every other continent.
Asia probably means Japan, India, South Korea, UAE, Israel, and maybe Saudi Arabia
South America is Brazil
Europe is def not including any non-NATO/non-EU country
It's very much cherrypicked and not just due to market demand
Calling her a b**** is dumb and sexist
But she sucks and is pro-genocide and no amount of liberal mental gymnastics is going to explain that away
a number of y’all favs have horrible politics too, i don’t see yall calling them out as loudly as yall do bey
They're saying this because of the idol ??
These people are not real
Thought he had a gotcha moment
Okay I'll bite lol:
My point was I dont think exporting goods or enjoying goods that is dubious and f***ed up is a fault from the citizen side. Again what I said is not hard to understand.
An iphone is made with terrible labor, sells you and your neighbor out and gives profit to a dubious company. but you enjoying it as the citizen doesnt make you evil - to me. (if you dont know the f***ed up policies and production behind apple and other similar companies thats a different story). A phone is a need in the mdoern world - but an iphone isnt, but you can buy an iphone and still not like slave labor and piracy breaches which the iphone does support.
Its just an a***ogy that just because an artist or seller is in another country doesnt mean they support that country - especially when their products/art arent directly involved with the government or that space. Its the citizens of that area enjoying said art/product overall, and the citizens are not the ones in charge of the atrocities cause d by the nation.
If this thread was "Beyonce performs for the Israel leaders at their family gathering (which some artists do)" or "Beyonce gives tickets to the Israel leaders" or "beyonce/beyonce's team invited leaders to the screenings" etc. then thats a different story. Like the people that go to North Korea to soley play ball for the leaders there.
I dont understand why its such a venomous issue like op puts it - when we are doing actual thing against our will (citizen wise) that directly supports the actual war and leaders there directly that dioesnt meet the hands of the citizens at all outside of the military.
And I dont get the weeknd good beyonce bad stan angle either, when another point of mine weeknd has performed in Dubai which full of f***ed up s*** such as legal slaves and human trafficking etc., an area many artists and more perform at and give direct support to the govt there in a place that I also find personally nasty political wise.
I dont know. Maybe its because of my personal separation of citizens and governemnt. Which also has to do with being USA and I and others dont even agree with a lot of stuff going on here political and government wise that is destroying lives day by day - such as Israel.
Also Im not saying that you have to like the artist and agree. I'm just saying I dont get or agree with exportation to a country doesnt equal agreement/belief and that I believe citizens are sperate from government/politics in this context. As well as there are actual nefarious direct support to Israel - which Beyonce is not.
lol
In fairness to her, Africa/the Caribbean is well represented here
The rest are pretty predictable
None of this absolves her from supporting Israel either
a number of y’all favs have horrible politics too, i don’t see yall calling them out as loudly as yall do bey
let’s be real, many people here don’t actually care that much about this conflict
this is just an opportunity to drag Beyoncé for reasons we already know lol we can see this by the random mentions of Taylor Swift (?) and that one user randomly talking about her not being a real human, etc
oh hell no you ain’t gonna call the goat a b**** after i spent 33.95$ enjoying her movie
@edumist
@atthepyramids
WAKE IT UP!!
idk who called her a b**** but they’re probably a lame loser
regardless i’m not defending her or whoever is responsible for screening in Israel
Calling her a b**** is dumb and sexist
But she sucks and is pro-genocide and no amount of liberal mental gymnastics is going to explain that away
not too much because we already discussed this yesterday
a number of y’all favs have horrible politics too, i don’t see yall calling them out as loudly as yall do bey
Supporting genocide isn't political
It's just bad to do because it's getting innocent people killed
not too much because we already discussed this yesterday
I know brudda I was referring to the person I quoted
Bey is a great artist who has been corrupted by greed
Argue the argument but don't resort to bigotry to criticize her. It hurts legitimate criticisms of her and spreads hate.
Bad people can be talented
Bad people don't deserve to be met with bigotry because they're bad people
Very simple stuff. White liberals saying racist s*** about Clarence Thomas can go get euthanized but Clarence is still a fascist d***head.
Clarence WAYYYYY worse than Bey but the logic is still there. Argue the argument.
They're saying this because of the idol ??
‘He may have donated millions of dollars to Palestinians but PLEASE don’t forget that he played a music executive who wasn’t a nice guy in a bad tv show’
What a brain dead, disrespectful tweet
Because Israeli's are not innocent victims trapped by an oppressive regime. They live in a liberal democratic society and the state of the Israeli government is a direct reflection of their voting decisions and personal sentiments. The Israeli population overwhelmingly supports the genocide/occupation happening in Palestine. They're not innocent and are not trapped by a regime. They voted into power, consciously, the monsters orchestrating this genocide.
Okay this part I did not know.
But here's my but; I dont think that paints them all as one either. Just like in America, if you look in from outside you think most agree with all the things going on (shout out rando EU posters on the internet that think they know the USA ground floor), but when youre actually here it is not like that at all. And everyday is a tug of war between many different factors from the social and civilian side to the government and political side.
However, I do think you dont have to agree nor even like Beyonce. My point originally was just I didnt understand the stan-like distinction between Weeknd and Beyonce which is what called myy Weeknd Dubai example, & also my general (of course there are extremes) take and belief that citizens are separate from government in this kind of context and day to day speaking - and imo USA is one of the biggest example of that so my belief and even perhaps bias comes from that perspective. I think a lot of people would have reason to disconnect from USA citizens if they see it all as "one unit" without knowing the political intricacies (and corruption that happens anyways against both politics and citizens) and even social everyday nuances.
I respect this position though even if I don't fully agree myself & it actual gave clarity and more meaning than the what I thought stan war disguised as politics (which is a nasty thing to do like its a game), or the biases of the people outside control based off op and some other posts itt

from the river to the sea
This thread sucks
Anyone who actually believes Beyonce and jay z are "for the people" are delusional af. For years they always just put themselves and their family above all else but because they're black people buy that their decisions are "pro black" when really they're just black capitalists
