People calling Doo-wops & Hooligans a classic
Actually insane
yes the The Weeknd brought it back to mainstream now every pop artist is hopping on the wave. Example Miley Cyrus she just jumped on the wave.
Lol dude, artists have been dipping into the 80s sound since the 90s. It’s not new by any means.
Actually insane
I mean if you’re gonna call After Hours classic then..

This is factually incorrect bro.
The Weeknd got some nice songs but you don’t gotta give him false credits to make him sound better.
People calling Doo-wops & Hooligans a classic
pretty sure they're just speaking in hyperbole, cause that album is horrible 💀💀
I mean if you’re gonna call After Hours classic then..
prolly the only album from this year that has a chance, other than the underground rap albums this year
def not an immediate classic tho

it's his best

ok you won the court case
i hope it ain't cause...
people think it's 24k because it pays homage to the 80s synth funk sound & people eat it up, it's good background music, but nowhere near his best

I personally don’t think it stands a chance at genuinely being a “classic” but then I guess maybe it does with the amount of people giving the title out so often nowadays. The bar is consistently getting lower and lower.

24k doesn’t have a genuine miss whereas Doo Wops definitely does.

He showcased more of his artistic ability on Doo Wops, and while both albums are well-crafted, I prefer Doo-wops more because it doesn't need feel the need to be derivative. I haven't regularly listened to either in years tho
Idg how people would compare Bruno Mars' 24k and Weeknd's After Hours tho, 24k sounds more like Rick James and MJ while After Hours sounds more like Depeche Mode

Yeah completely agree. 24k and After Hours have 0 comparability IMO. Two completely different albums.
I mean if you’re gonna call After Hours classic then..
Huh? For starters I don't know if I can call After Hours a classic for sure because it's still very early. Can't be determined until a few years later, but Doo Wops is certainly not a classic. Don't know how you could say that with a straight face.
Idg why people were saying that Weeknd can't sing live when they been to zero shows

One of the top selling albums of the year, forward progressive music, memorable aesthetic and visuals, genuinely fantastic music (some of the best of his entire career), timeless single breaking records left and right, dropped at the height of a global pandemic cementing its relevancy within the time period, and 2020 won't be forgotten about in a very long time.
But sure keep complaining about how low the bar has been set.

People are genuine haters

Are you seriously telling me that you don't agree the bar is getting lower for something to be called a classic?
Everything else you've said is mostly stannery and some sales stats when music consumption is much lower than normal this year.
