I'm about to graduate in March with my Bach in marketing and I just lowkey want to travel. I
Money isn't necessarily a problem, I'm not rich, but I saved up some and can work until I leave. I am thinking of travelling to Europe. Cliche I know, but still I wanna go.
Does anyone know how I can make this as cheap as possible what are some things I should to prepare? Or ways I can get a job there?
Has anyone every traveled for extended periods of time to another country?
with money saved up it's as simple as packing a backpack and buying a plane ticket
you could plan out the trip or just land wherever and see where the wind takes you
stay in hostels and you'll meet a lot of people, stay in airbnbs if you have the money and want privacy. that plus online dating apps is a win win
check out the site workaway to find volunteer positions
best advice is to just do it. it'll be one of the best experiences of your life and right after college is the perfect time for it
Studying abroad maybe?
I'm about to graduate college so I doubt it. Not planning on getting my masters.
Bachelors in marketing is almost as bad as a bachelors in art history
Only if you major in it and have no people skills which happens
Don’t move to Europe unless you have a job. Otherwise it will be difficult given the current rate of unemployment. I’d look into Barcelona, Lisbon or Berlin if I were you

I've been contemplating doing that whole packing up and buying a plane ticket and see where GOD takes me move, but idk. The only thing that scares me is running out of money part. But honestly it feels like that 's what I have to do if I'm actually gonna travel.
You have the rest of your life to work. Travel and have a new experience before you do

Isn't Berlin the capital? Wouldn't that also be expensive too?

That's what I've been telling myself. Do you have experiencing traveling? If you do, how much would recommend to have saved up?
my advice would be dont go east of Germany but go check out prauge and budapest, and see as much of the mediterranean as you can

Unfortunately I didn’t have the money after college but I have a good amount saved up now and looking to travel at some point

always leave enough for a plane ticket back. I saved up and went to South America, which is a lot cheaper than Europe. spent six months traveling solo without plans and it was the best year of my life
you can travel frugally too tho, no matter where you go. only stay in hostels, buy and cook your food as much as you can, hitchhike, etc. all depends on your comfort level and what kind of experience you're looking for
Yeah bro travelling is easier and cheaper than it might seem, moving/working is a bit harder.
For travel, I believe Americans can stay 90 days in Europe visa free, although because of COVID some countries might not let you in, but some do (I know Croatia does), and once the vaccine is out it should be fine.
But I recommend researching roughly where you want to go and how long, while leaving the specifics flexible, then book a plane ticket in and out. Stay in hostels and travel by bus to make it more affordable. Also eat cheap food or cook for yourself, don't go out drinking every night, research cheap or free things to do, etc...
Definitely worth it!
are they even letting american in?
This is hopefully when COVID-19 is under control or no more when the vaccine is introduced GOD willing.

Which countries in South America did you go to?
And are you black? I'm asking because I am and want to know the level racism there is there. Don't get me wrong I know Europe is racist as hell, but you're the only one in this thread to have experience traveling so I'm just wondering.

Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia. that's a fair question, although most here would never answer lol. I'm white so don't really feel comfortable speaking on racism or what the experience would be like as a black traveler
i know as a foreigner and American, I've sometimes felt discriminated against or automatically disliked. I chalk it up to ignorance and xenophobia. most people are cool and friendly but there are a******s in every country

Berlin is the seat of the federal government, but it’s not the richest city in Germany (Bavaria and Westphalia are remain the richest regions in Germany). Berlin’s real estate is heavily regulated compared to any other European city. You can find an apartment in East Berlin for 500-600 euros if you know people. And you can go a whole day without spending more than 10 euros
Also it’s the perfect city for people our age, but things move very slowly on the administrative level (getting your settlement, opening a bank account... etc)
Which countries did you have in mind? I did this after graduating.
Thinking of Europe, but maybe South America for my second choice.
Mostly western European countries like the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, maybe Belgium idk about the last one.

Thanks for answering truthfully. Most on here on really wouldn't. But yeah I know the American xenophobia part is something I can see coming when I travel. Another reason why I asked was that I just hear these horror stories about black people when they're traveling.
