DJ hed needs to be fired, then rehired immediately so he can be fired again.
DJ Hed and Punch
Solid album after first listen. Lotta cool stuff on here. I'm tired right now and don't wanna make a big judgment but it could be on the same level as Herbert or better as far as my taste goes, we'll see with time
Not better than Herbet imo but good
Yeah but his intention with this album was making something more accessible
I wanna see him win so bad but idk if this album will do it
Feel like for that to work he would already need a single to takeoff before an album so those looking for that sound can have something from him
because his core doesn’t care about him sounding mainstream
Don’t think I’ll be able to listen to it all rn but on BUCKO so far & I’m not mad at it
I just think everything that made me love Soul isn’t really showcased so I have to listen to this with a different mentality
I am happy that he dropped so soon though
Soul using Auto Tune on Saudi Sweets
Might be the only miss so far to me on this album
No wait I really like this joint
It’s different af & I like that
The beat is something special
It actual reminds me of something off CS
Very mixed on this for sure has the mixtape feel it's not as bad as some saying def needa play it more n live with it but Go Pro and Saudi Sweats are 2 of his worst songs especially back to back
Edit: Righteous Man top 3 Soul songs for me though s*** is special

Go pro feels like a vultures song
And I still just can't get over how you have a Doechii feature and she just does backing vocals and then the next joint you got this weed carrier chick rappin instead of a doechii verse?
You coulda still had notorious niq and get a doechii verse on that song too she woulda gone crazy on that beat I can just hear it
After her feature on Tyler’s album I’m okay with her vibing in the background.
Is talking about Do What Thou Wilt taboo or something is this thread? I think that album is his 2nd best behind Control System.
Just a very divisive and not so accessible album. I’m a fan of what he was trying to do with the concepts but on a musical level like half of the album didn’t feel like something I’d want to return so much. A bit chaotic in execution and some of the production felt off for me
These Days is a classic compared to this
Yeah I listened a couple more times. The album is just average, Long Term Mentality still my least fav Soul project but it’s a toss up between These Days & this which one comes after.
He hasn’t ever dropped an actual trash album tho just some aren’t as good overall as his peak

At his worst he's still better than most so I'm not complaining
There's no project from him that I dislike
