Think you're gonna pursue it?

It's an interesting role. At a clearing house here in Chicago, focused on operational IT and cybersecurity audits instead of ITGC testing/SOX/pure compliance.
I'm definitely gonna give it a shot but it seems like it's a much more technical role than your average IT Auditor gig, so idk
I’m a CFA lvl 1. Currently work in P&C insurance. Boring as hell.
Post to avy correlation is insanity.
What's your goal with the CFA

Sounds like it's something I'd potentially consider lol. I'd imagine it'd be a bit more interesting than the typical IT audit position, so that'd be a plus. Good luck

How do you have time to even post on ktt? Accounting is so demanding

Go into Internal Audit dude. It probably has the best WLB out of any accounting/operational/compliance/risk/technology function out there.

Tbh looking at these job descriptions I'm getting interested in IT Audit in general. Looks like it's like Internal Audit where the s***ty gigs are all SOX/compliance. Any sprinkling of operational experience seems like a shoo-in to enter InfoSec.

Asset management.

That was my plan if I didn't get my current job lol. Figured it was something I could put up with for a year or two, then make the pivot into security. Prior to graduating like 5 years ago, pretty much all I saw were people saying there's not a ton of exit opportunities with IT audit, but they might have been speaking from an accounting POV.
But yeah man, def worth a shot if you're finding the job descriptions interesting. Work life balance for those positions seem great as well. Doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world. Worst case, it's probably a bit boring, but I'd rather take that over some other alternatives
Asset management.
Good luck man, are you trying to get chartered? You'd have a ton of opportunities in AM once you become a Level 3 candidate

Definitely. CFA isn’t easy but it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Landed a Senior IA role a month ago, they already want me heavily working with InfoSec audits/Data A***ytics for our risk management I made such a good choice moving forward with this place.
Cybersec GRC here I come
